Ustadha Zaynab Ansari is a dedicated educator and community leader, currently serving as a full-time instructor at Tayseer Seminary and an adjunct instructor at Boston Islamic Seminary. Her teachings encompass a diverse range, including Islamic law, Qur’an & Hadith studies, Prophetic biography, American Muslim history, and women in Islam.

BACKGROUND

Originally from the Southern United States with roots in the North, Ustadha Zaynab embarked on a profound educational journey. She spent her formative years in Damascus, Syria, immersing herself in the foundations of traditional Islam and the etiquette of seeking knowledge.

Upon her return to the U.S., she continued her studies at Georgia State University, focusing on the humanities with an emphasis on history and Middle Eastern Studies.

Ustadha Zaynab’s commitment to community engagement is evident through her involvement in various organizations. She serves on the boards of the Tayseer Foundation and the Muslim Community of Knoxville, where she currently resides.

Before her move, she was actively engaged in interfaith dialogue and bridge-building through the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Atlanta.

Her passion for women’s education and leadership is notable. Ustadha Zaynab is a regular contributor to the Rabata curriculum, an online resource for women’s theological training, and has been part of the team at Jannah Institute, contributing to the Year of Knowledge academic program under the leadership of Shaykha Haifaa Younis.

With a strong belief in empowering women, Ustadha Zaynab has also been a contributor to Shaykha Tamara Gray’s Ribaat curriculum, a four-year certificate program designed exclusively for women.

Her dedication to advancing knowledge extends beyond traditional settings, as she spent several years contributing to the pioneering field of online Islamic education as a consultant, writer, volunteer, and instructor.

Since 2014, Ustadha Zaynab Ansari has served as a scholar-in-residence for the Tayseer Foundation, offering enrichment courses and halaqahs to women and youth in the Muslim Community of Knoxville. Her role extends to working on interfaith dialogue, reflecting her commitment to fostering understanding and harmony among diverse communities.

Husband

Zaynab loses her husband, Salahud-Din Abdul-Razacq, in the year 2015. Salahud Din died days after being struck by a drunk driver whose license had been suspended. May Allah s.wt. forgive his shortcomings and bless him with the highest place in Paradise.

Family

The Ustadha has a sister named Sumayyah. Their parents’ names are Mr Mansour and Mrs Kafi Ansari.
