Early Years: From Punk Rock to Islamic Education
In his early years, Shaykh Saad tasted the alternative life as the lead singer of a punk rock band. But he soon realized that there was more to life than just music and partying. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Shaykh Saad pursued higher education at the University of Maryland where he studied Art History, Modern Art, Graphic Design, and Psychology.
It was during this time that Shaykh Saad began to question the purpose of his life. He felt a deep yearning to understand Islam in its true essence. This led him to start his Islamic education at IIASA in Fairfax, VA. From there, he went on to study at the prestigious Islamic University of Madinah where he dedicated himself to the study of Islamic Sciences. His hard work paid off as he graduated with a Bachelor’s from the Faculty of Islamic Law.
Dedicated to Empowering Muslim Youth
Today, Shaykh Saad is a renowned Islamic scholar and educator, with a passion for empowering Muslim youth. He has developed seminars like Fiqh of Chillin’: Entertainment & Recreation in Islam, Trends: Fiqh of Fashion & Clothing, and Deception: Study of Shaytan. Through these seminars, Shaykh Saad encourages young Muslims to embrace their personal identities while still adhering to Islamic values.
One of Shaykh Saad’s primary messages is the importance of balancing Western lifestyles with Islamic values. He believes that Muslim youth can still enjoy the best of both worlds without compromising on their faith. He has become a mentor and role model to many, inspiring them to stay true to their beliefs while pursuing their dreams.

Shaykh Saad’s contemporary lifestyle is a reflection of his message. He still skateboards, snowboards, and rocks his Converse sneakers. But at the same time, he is a devout Muslim who dedicates his life to spreading the message of Islam. He is highly in tune with today’s youth struggles and pressures, while grounded with education in traditional Islamic Sciences.
