Sulaimān ibn Dāwūd was a King during his time and also a nabī (prophet’) of the Israelites. Prophet Sulaiman was bestowed with so many divine gifts, including the ability to speak to both animals and jinn; he is also said to have enslaved the shayāṭīn (devils) and the dīv (demons) with the support of a ring given to him by God.
